For us, never having renovated previously, with two small children and a modest budget, the prospect of a rebuilding almost an entire house was daunting to say the least.
From friends and family we had heard only stories of projects exceeding budgets and timelines while stress levels soared. But we had a great spot in a great suburb and we had decided to build our family home.
Right from the start, Spacemakers were a dream to deal with. From day one, they answered all our questions repeatedly and guided us when we hit a dead-end by finding affordable, workable solutions. Building started and our project manager, Tim, consistently exceeded our expectations. We worked as a team every step of the way and he invited and used our feedback to build the house we had always wanted.
Time and again, we drew on his years of expertise and knowledge as well as took advantage of the amazing relationships he had developed with every single tradesperson that worked on the house. A common refrain heard on site was “we can do that for Tim”.
He resolved every challenge efficiently, without ever compromising what we wanted, and would approach every meeting with a smile and a can-do attitude, which had a ripple effect on the whole crew. Months later, having had other tradesman through the house for various small projects, we heard every single one comment on the exceedingly high standard to which the house had been built.
We have nothing but praise and affection for Damien, Tim, Greg, Cam and all the great blokes that built our house and would not hesitate to recommend Spacemaker. We have come away from this experience on budget, on time, without a frayed nerve in sight and most importantly, with not only a lovely house, but our perfect family home.
